Re-live travel as it was on board a heritage Steam Train
Today we join the Steam Incorporated Society on a double motive power mission up to Manawatu! In Wellington we board one of their heritage steam trains as we take a glimpse into the bygone era of train travel. Once we clear the congestion of Wellington and pause in Paekakariki to hook up the Ja 1271 steam locomotive, we are then off to take in the views from the Kapiti Coast as we travel northwards to Feilding.
We have a 4 hour stop-over in Feilding, where you have a choice of things to do for an extra fee:-
a) Take a shuttle bus to the Feilding Craft Market at the Manfield Stadium for $12
b) Enjoy an exquisite lunch at the Strongroom a local favourite for $49
c) Take a self guided tour of Feilding and explore for FREE
d) Spend the Day on the Rails and take a journey through the Manawatu Gorge to Woodville and return getting a perspective of the slips that closed the Gorge to traffic from 2017 for $30
Whilst the day may be over upon arriving at Wellington, the memories of the day live on in the sounds and smells that will bring back many memories.!
(Note:- Hauling this excursion for the majority of the day will be a Da class diesel locomotive and joining us from Paekakariki, will be our steam locomotive, Ja 1271)
FROM ONLY $ 650.00 per person (Includes: coach travel, 2 dinners, 2 breakfasts, twin share accommodation & train ticket).
