June is coming and Dallas & Royce are heading back to enjoy the sights and sounds that is Norfolk Island,
so why not join us.
Escape July at home and enjoy the laid back holiday atmosphere of Norfolk Island for a week with us. Learn of the convict history, the island culture & food - yummy!!, shopping at tax free prices and take a break from the 'real world' and enjoy the leisurely pace of life.
DAY 6
Enjoy a morning walk either leisurely or for the more energetic a 3.5km walk through scenic Mt Bates to Captain Cook Monument. At the end of both walks we enjoy a delicious clifftop breakfast barbecue. Enjoy the rest of the morning at leisure.
This afternoon we experience an Island Culture Tour. Experience the culture of our forebears! From our mutineer ancestors & their Tahitian wives came the arts of wood craft, weaving, cooking & our Norfolk Language. On this tour see a woodturning demonstration using Norfolk timber, visit Island homes where you'll learn about our cooking. An Island weaving demonstration & a presentation on the Norfolk language will follow the afternoon tea break. Dinner is at the hotel this evening.
Wonderland by Night, the setting is 10 acres of magical Norfolk pines & bushland lit up like an enchanted forest. Meander along (or ride in the moon buggy) a winding pathway with Archie, a descendant of the Bounty mutineers, as he recites his poems and lights up the dioramas. Then afterward enjoy a light supper.
DAY 7
Today sees us enjoying parts of the Island only accessable by 4 Wheel Drive, we join Christans 4 WD, an exciting 3 hour tour to points of Norfolk accessible only by 4WD. This back of beyond tour takes us through private properties and the national park featuring spectacular scenery, native flora & bird life. Is also includes delicious home made cakes with tea & coffee. Dont expect a rough race through the scrub, driver are conscientious and very knowledgeable. All vehicles are comfortable modern 4WDs. Great for all ages. Dinner is at the hotel this evening.
Following dinner we are transported to the Mutiny on the Bounty Show see decendants of the mutineers bring the story famed Mutiny on the Bounty and historic events to life in a 90 minute show performed in an outdoor amphitheatre on Norfolks western coastline.
DAY 8
Greenfingers, A tour featuring some of the Islands most lovely gardens. Throughout the morning we visit a nursery owned & operated by a young Norfolk Islander, and view the hydroponics. We also visit gorgeous private gardens, some with a spectacular views of Kingston & Nepean & Philip Islands. Our local historian will give a talk on this area with a history dating to 1788. Morning tea is served in a scenic location. Afternoon is free.
A fun night out tonight Night as a Convict, dress as a convict and join with the commandant for an evening of gaiety, feasting and singing. Great food! Great fun! (outfit supplied). This is the most popular feature dinner on Norfolk.
DAY 9
This morning sees us boarding our aircraft, waving goodbye to Norfolk Island and making our way to our own homes with many fond memories of our time on Norfolk Island.
