DAY 1 (Monday 6 Aug.)
Today we fly from Auckland to Adelaide, the seat of the South Australia Government. Time permitting on arrival we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Adelaide city before arriving at our hotel.

DAY 2 (Tuesday 7 Aug.)
After a morning of interesting sightseeing the rest of the day is at leisure to do as you wish. You may like to take one of the many half day tours that are available or visit some of the churches and cathedrals which Adelaide is famous for. You may wish to take a luncheon cruise on the Torrens River or perhaps spend a few hours shopping and looking at the sights of the fascinating Rundle Mall. Your Coach Captain will advise on the many things to see and do in this lovely city.
 
DAY 3 (Wednesday 8 Aug.)
This morning we continue with Adelaide sights and then on to Port Wakefield for a short break before travelling to Snowtown & Crystal Brook, both farming centres on our way to Port Augusta at the head of the Spencer Gulf and the rail and road junction to Perth in the west and Darwin in the north. Here we visit the Wadlata Outback Centre and learn about the history and life in the South Australian outback before retiring to our accommodation for the night.

DAY 4 (Thursday 9 Aug.)
Leaving Port Augusta this morning we travel north to the opal mining town of Coober Pedy, where we spend two nights with lots of free time to explore this fascinating town and enjoy the unique underground buildings and view the opal mining operations.

DAY 5 (Friday 10 Aug.)
Today we enjoy a tour of Coober pedy which includes a visit to an Opal mine where we learn to noodle, which is a way some of the locals ear their living, visit the underground church and a house to experience what life would be like underground.  We take a drive out to the Breakaways where the film Priscella Queen of the desert was filmed and view the famous Dog Fence, before returning to Coober pedy, we make a stop at the golf course to view the difference and experience this unique course.
 
DAY 6 (Saturday 11 Aug.)
After breakfast this morning we continue our northward journey along the Stuart Highway to the Cadney Park Roadhouse, Maria and Kulgera (just over the Northern Territory / South Australia border) then on to Erldunda where we turn off to pass Mt Ebenezer and on to the Curtin Springs Station our home for the next three nights. DAY 7 (Sunday 12 Aug.)
This morning we continue along the Lasseter Highway to Yulara and on to Uluru (Ayres Rock) we also take time today to visit Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) which rise abruptly out of the plains and are of vital Cultural and Religious significance to the Anagu whose ancestors have lived in the area for at least 30,000 years. We then return to Uluru to watch the spectacular sunset (weather permitting) before returning to Curtin Springs for a sumptuous barbeque meal.
 
DAY 8 (Monday 13 Aug.)
Today we visit Kings Canyon, one of the most scenic areas of the centre, where we take an easy stroll along the bottom of the canyon taking in the views, the wildflowers of this area and the beautiful rock formations.   We then travel on to the small town of Kings Canyon where there is the option of helicopter flights over the area (own cost) before returning to Curtin Springs.
 
DAY 9 (Tuesday 14 Aug.)
We bid farewell to Curtin Springs once again passing Mt Ebenezer to rejoin the Stuart Highway at Erldunda to continue our journey northwards.  Weather permitting we detour  to Henbury Craters, believed to have been formed several thousand years ago by a falling meteor which broke into pieces and hit the earth creating craters up to 180 metres wide and 15 metres deep. We continue our travels to arrive in Alice Springs where we visit the telegraph Station and have a look over our home for the next three nights from Anzac Hill..

DAY 10 (Wednesday 15 Aug.)
Today we visit Simpsons Gap, Standley Chasm and Hermannsburg along with other attractions in and around Alice Springs as this relaxed sightseeing day allows. A visit to the Royal Flying Doctor may also be available today.

DAY 11 (Thursday 16 Aug.)
Today is a free day to do with as you wish, there are so many things to see and do in Alice Springs or you may just wish to relax and enjoy a rest. Ask your coach captain for further information.
 
DAY 12 (Friday 17 Aug.)
Leaving Alice Springs this morning after enjoying a good breakfast we travel on northwards to pass the Plenty Highway turnoff to Queensland and continue on the Stuart Highway through Aileron where we pause to see the big Aboriginal Family, Titree & Barrow Creek which was once a water hole for drovers and their cattle before continuing on to Wauchope. We stop to view the Devils Marbles before arriving at Tennant Creek for the night.

DAY 13 (Saturday 18 Aug.)
After a night in Tennant Creek and some sightseeing we head on north to the small settlement of Mataranka with its thermal pools and fishing for the tasty Barramundi. There will be time to soak in the thermal pools this evening.

DAY 14 (Sunday 19 Aug.)
With only a short drive today from Mataranka to Katherine we can look forward to some relaxing time while sightseeing. Today we enjoy a never to be forgotten cruise of the Katherine Gorge with its towering cliffs and wonderful wildlife - have cameras ready with spare films.

DAY 15 (Monday 20 Aug.)
Today we travel from Katherine to Darwin, travelling through Pine Creek, Hayes Creek, Adelaide River and on to Darwin where we join with passengers doing the Spectacular North-West Tour.

DAY 16 (Tuesday 21 Aug.)
After a sightseeing tour of Darwin the rest of the day is free to spend longer at places viewed during the sightseeing tour, explore on your own, rest or explore the shops. Enjoy your time in this growing city.
 
DAY 17 (Wednesday 22 Aug.)
We visit Crocodylus Park this morning to view and learn about the mighty Crocodile and have the chance to hold a baby one before travelling on to Humpty Doo, where many people lost money in the failed rice irrigation project. We enter the Kakadu National Park, pausing at Jabiru before continuing on to Cooinda and our home for the night.

DAY 18 (Thursday 23 Aug.)
Today we enjoy a cruise on the Yellow Waters watching the wildlife wake up and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before heading back to Darwin via Fogg Dam with its prolific bird life - Pelicans, Galahs, Cockatoos, Egrets, Kitehawks etc.

DAY 19 (Friday 24 Aug.)
Those leaving the tour at Darwin will today be transferred to the Darwin Airport for their flights home - we trust you have had a wonderful experience and made many new friends, we wish you a safe and happy trip home and look forward to seeing you in the future.

DAY 6 (Saturday 25 Aug.)
Today we enjoy a never to be forgotten cruise of the Katherine Gorge with its towering cliffs and wonderful wildlife - have cameras ready with spare films. For those continuing on from the Adelaide to Darwin tour take this day to explore Katherine at your leisure.
 
DAY 7 (Sunday 26 Aug.)
We leave Katherine today and travel on to Kununurra, across the Northern Territory / Western Australia border via the Victoria Highway, enroute we pass through the Gregory National Park, Victoria River, Timber Creek, keep River National Park. It is then over the border to Kununurra, situated along Lake Kununurra on the Ord River, Kununurra is the major centre for the Argyle Diamond Mine - the largest Diamond Mine in the world.

DAY 8 (Monday 27 Aug.)
Day at Kununurra which will include a cruise on the magnificent Lake Argyle.  The lake,created by the Ord River Dam, is one of the largest man-made lakes in the southern hemisphere.  See the spitting fish, catfish among many others possibly view a rock wallaby or two.  We visit the Zebra Rock Gallery for lunch and view the unique rock which is approx. 600 million years old.  There is the chance today (own cost) tofly over the remarkably coloured and shaped Bungle Bungles and the Argyle diamond Mine, the world's largest single producer of diamonds in the world, view this amazing part of the country by air.
 
DAY 9 (Tuesday 28 Aug.)
We leave Kununurra this morning and take a detour into the most northerly safe port town in Western Australia - Wyndham. Returning to the Great Northern Highway we continue on to Turkey creek where we take a break before heading on to Halls Creek in the heart of the Kimberley at the edge of the Great Sandy Desert and site of Western Australias first gold find in 1885.

DAY 10 (Wednesday 29 Aug.)
From Halls Creek this morning we tour on south / west to arrive at Fitzroy Crossing by the Fitzroy River. Here we enjoy a cruise in the magnificent Geikie Gorge with plentiful sawfish and stingrays which have adapted to fresh water, barramundi and fresh water crocodiles.

DAY 11 (Thursday 30 Aug.)
We continue on today to visit Derby, near the mouth of the Fitzroy River on King Sound.Derby is a centre for the beef cattle industry of the Fitzroy Valley and King Leopold Ranges. While visiting Derby we may also visit the old Boab tree which is centuries old and reputed to have been used as a cell to hold prisoners. We then continue on to the old pearling town of Broome on the coast and at the southern tip of the Kimberlys. Pearls were discovered here in the 1880s.

DAY 12 (Friday 31 Aug.)
Today after a short sightseeing tour in Broome we visit the Pearl Luggers where we get an insight into the life of the peral divers and learn about this gem.  After this the day is your own wiht time to explore this fascinating place and maybe buy some pearls?? You may like to walk the self guide Broome heritage trail (approx. 2 kms) there is also a number of short tours you may like to do - your coach captain will assist with any arrangements you may like to make.
 
DAY 13 (Saturday 1 Sept.)
our travels today take us parallel to the 80 mile Indian Ocean beach and skirt the edge of the Great Sandy Desert, to eventually reach Port Hedland which is a major shipping outlet for the mineral rich Pilbara. It is then on through to Whim Creek before arriving at Karratha our home for the next two nights.

DAY 14 (Sunday 2 Sept.)
This morning we re-trace our steps to Roebourne the oldest town on the Northwest coast, visit Wickham and point Samson - once a major port for the Roeboune District. Returning from Port Samson we drive through Karratha and on to Dampier which is on King Bay - the towns deep water port exports iron ore from two of the worlds richest iron-ore deposits, Tom Price & Paraburdoo & salt which is harvested from ponds near the port.
 
DAY 15 (Monday 3 Sept.)
We leave Karratha behind today and continue down the North West Coastal Highway enroute we cross the Fortescue River to reach the turn off to Exmouth at Manilya. Exmouth is one of the newest towns in Australia and was founded in 1967 as a support town for the US Naval communications station.

DAY 16 (Tuesday 4 Sept.)
Today we have a wonder filled cruise in the Ningaloo marine Park which is home to 500 fish species, 220 reef-building coral species after which we return to Exmouth with some free time to explore or rest as you may wish
 
DAY 17 (Wednesday 5 Sept.)
It is goodbye to Exmouth today as we make our way back to the main road which we follow to Carnavon on the Gascoyne River which is a very productive area, growing bananas, melons and all sorts of other fruits vegetables, time permitting we will visit a plantation to learn about the market gardening in this area. Carnavon was also a telecommunications base.

DAY 18 (Thursday 6 Sept.)
Today we travel south to the Overland Roadhouse where we turn off to head out to Shark Bay, and our overnight home Denham.  On the way we make a stop at Nanga Bay and the fascinating Shell Beach, a 110 km stretch of unique Australian coastline comprising countless tiny shells.

DAY 19 (Friday 7 Sept.)
This morning we travel to Monkey Mia to see wild dolphins and hopefully interact with these beautiful creatures, before returning to the North West Coastal Highway and travel south to turn of to the resort town of Kalbarri on the Murchison River Esturary. Kalbarri is well known for wildflowers with over 500 species. The spectacular gorges of the Murchison River and Kalbarri National Park add to the scenic beauty of this area.

DAY 20 (Saturday 8 Sept.)
Away from Kalbarri this morning we travel onwards south through Northhampton and the Northhampton Hill to reach the city of Geraldton on Champion Bay on the Bavarian Coast. There is much to see and do in this flourishing city of sunny summer climate and mild winters which make this area so popular.

DAY 21 (Sunday 9 Sept.)
After some sightseeing (if not done previous day) the day is FREE. You may like to visit the St Francis Xavier Cathedral, the Old Gaol Craft Centre, Geraldton Museum which includes a marine display, watch the boats unloading crayfish, do some shopping - there is lots to do today in Geraldton you may even like to go fishing?
 
DAY 22 (Monday 10 Sept.)
Today we leave Geraldton and travel on through the historic Greenough Village, see the tortured trees, all bent and bowed as we head on down towards the fishing village of Dongara and Port Denison. Here there is an abundance of rock lobster reef enclosed bays and a main street lined with Moreton Bay Figs. We carry on down to Eneabba with its mineral sand mining. Our tour today will allow us to see many wild flowers such as previous days also have. We see the Benedictine Monastery with its distinctive Spanish origins at New Norcia, along with all the other imposing buildings of Spanish influence before travelling on to Perth.
Joining us tonight will be the passengers for the Across Australia Tour.

DAY 23 (Tuesday 11 Sept.)
This morning we go sightseeing in Perth, including the Swan River and the beautiful Kings Park with its awesome views over Perth and the Swan River. Walk the tree top walk, see the wildflowers, plus lots more on this great tour. The afternoon is free to enjoy Perth and the many things it has to offer, i.e. visit the casino, the Perth Mint, travel the city on the free CAT buses.  No evening meal included today giving you a chance to sample the local restaurants.
 
DAY 24 (Wednesday 12 Sept.)
We are met at our hotel this morning and enjoy an exciting day tour to Nambung National Park and the world famous, mystical Pinnacles, enroute we travel through the beautiful Chittering Valley and small town of Gin Gin with its beautiful wildflower walk. There is time to take a beach walk and admire the seascape at Cervantes. At the Pinnacles we can experience the eerie atmosphere of this area, also known as the Painted Desert. We have time to explore these majestic spires before returning to Perth.
 
DAY 25 (Thursday 13 Sept.)
Today is a free day and your Coach Captain will be pleased to advise and assist with the many things to see, and do.  No evening meal included today giving you a chance to sample the local restaurants.
 
DAY 26 (Friday 14 Sept.)
Today we bid farewell to those leaving us in Perth and wish them a safe journey home (you have the day free until your early evening flight - enjoy it)

DAY 1 (Monday 10 Sept.)

DAY 2 (Tuesday 11 Sept.)
This morning we go sightseeing in Perth, including the Swan River and the beautiful Kings Park with its awesome views over Perth and the Swan River. Walk the tree top walk, see the wildflowers, plus lots more on this great tour. DAY 5 (Friday 14 Sept.)
Today we follow the Swan River to Freemantle and further south to the picturesque holiday resort of Mundurah. It is then on to Australind where we take time to visit the smallest church in Western Australia before arriving in Bunbury City. It is then a short drive to Busselton.

DAY 6 (Saturday 15 Sept.)
Leaving Busselton this morning we travel to the picturesque town of Margaret River in the wine region, before visiting the magnificent Jewel Cave and the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. Wetake time to view the Blackwood River at the town of Augusta where the Southern and Indian oceans meet. At Pemberton we view the huge Gloucester Tree which has a fire look-out perched 61 metres above the ground, before arriving in Manjimup a major timber milling town with some wonderful stands of native trees to view.

DAY 7 (Sunday 16 Sept.)
Today we travel through the small towns of Walpole and Nornalup where we stop at places of interest. Then it is on to the spectacular Valley of the Giants with its huge Tingle and Karri trees, and take a walk among the tree tops on the unique tree top walkway. There may be time for a short stop at Bow Bridge to visit a reptile park (own expense). We pause at in the beautiful little town of Denmark before making our way to the Emu product factory (Mt Romance) before arriving in Albany - the oldest town in Western Australia.

DAY 8 (Monday 17 Sept.)
Today we enjoy a morning touring historic Albany. The tour includes the Gap, the Natural Bridge, Frenchmens Bay, where we take a guided tour of the old whaling station and the whale boat Cheyne IV, before heading back to Albany. The remainder of the afternoon is free to do as you wish - you may like to visit the old gaol and the brig Amity.
 
DAY 9 (Tuesday 18 Sept.)
Today we farewell Albany and travel through the Stirling Range National Park pausing at Bluff Knoll the highest point i Western Australia to take in the fantastic views and a short wildflower & flora walk (good easy track).  Our next stop is at Amelup and then to Lake Grace for our lunch stop.  It is then on through to Hyden where we visit the beautiful WAVE ROCK which has formed over a period of two thousand seven hundred million years, view the Margaret Blackburn Victorian Lace Collection and the beautiful dried wild flowers of the region along with the wildlife park.

DAY 10 (Wednesday 19 Sept.)
This morning we pass through the small town of Narambeen before arriving in Merridin where we view the extremely large grain transfer storage units (these are some of the largest in Australia).  We travel through the rolling wheat fields to Southern Cross, which is the centre of a prosperous agricultural & pastoral area.  There will be time today to stop at points of interest along the way.

DAY 11 (Thursday 20 Sept.)
We depart Southern Cross and travel on to the Boorabbin National Park, with its sea of wild flowers & scrub. It is then on to the famous one time ghost town of Coolgardie (now operating again) and a short visit to the camel farm, where camel rides may be available for those who may wish to try this exciting mode of transport. It is then a short drive on to world famous gold mining town of Kalgoorlie where we visit the Hannan 2 Tourist Mine, which is an old mine open for tourists and enjoy the experience of the underground mining operation and see the way the old miners used to live we also see a gold pour (making of a gold nugget). We enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kalgoorlie and its sister town, Boulder, with a visit to the Super Pit Goldmine Look-out (WOW what a sight) before taking time to relax and explore the more intricate areas of Kalgoorlie at our leisure during the afternoon.  Leaving Kalgoorlie we visit the nickel mining town of Kambalda before arriving in the historic gold mining town of Norseman.

DAY 12 (Friday 21 Sept.)
From Norseman we commence our unforgettable journey across the Nullabor Plains - we cross the Fraser Range to Balladonia before traversing the 90 mile straight, reputedly the worlds longest sealed straight road. We pause at Caiguna and pass through the remote area of Cocklebiddy before arriving at Madura.

DAY 13 (Saturday 22 Sept.)
Today we continue our journey across the Nullabor past the Mundrabilla Station and on to the Eucla Basin on the Lower Nullabor, after ascending the Eucla Pass we enjoy a break at the West Australia / South Australia Border Village. We travel on to a point on the Great Australian Bight where we obtain some awesome views and lovely photographs of the sea and cliffs of the area, including fantastic photographic shots to the head of the Great Australian Bight, we pause at the Nullabor Road House, on amazing treeless plain. It is then on to Yalata and the remote town of Penong where we see many windmills used for supplying water. We end our day on arrival in Ceduna on Murat Bay, overlooking Denial Bay.

DAY 14 (Sunday 23 Sept.)
After a sightseeing tour of Ceduna and its shipping port, Port Thevenard we leave Ceduna to travel through the small outback towns of Wudina and Kyancutta. We pause at Kimba, which is situated halfway between Sydney and Perth. We continue on through the South Australian wheat belt to reach the old open cast iron ore town of Iron Knob where we enjoy a tour before arriving in the iron ore processing and one time ship building town of Whyalla, on the Eyre Peninsular.

DAY 15 (Monday 24 Sept.)
Leaving Whyalla we travel north to Port Augusta, the cross roads of Australia. We have some time for some sightseeing, which may include a visit to the Head Quarters of the Australian Flying Doctor Service, if available & the Wadlata Outback Centre where we experience the unique outback history & wildlife of South Australia. Continuing on from Port Augusta view the majestic Flinders Ranges on our left side before passing past Port Pirie, through Snowtown, Crystal Brook and on to Port Wakefield before arriving in the garden city of Adelaide.

DAY 16 (Tuesday 25 Sept.)
After a morning of interesting sightseeing the rest of the day is at leisure to do as you wish. DAY 17 (Wednesday 26 Sept.)
Today is free to relax, go shopping or sightseeing. Suggested sights today are a river cruise on the Torrens River Popeye boats or a tram ride to Glenelg Beach or perhaps an afternoon at the delightful little German village of Hahndorf with its German bakery and other shops of like. Your Coach Captain will be available to advise and assist on the many things to do.

DAY 18 (Thursday 27 Sept.)
We leave our hotel this morning and are taken on a full day tour of the pretty Barossa Valley, which is famous world wide for its lovely wines and historic stone buildings and cottages. We take time to look over the Big Rocking Horse toy factory at Gumeracha, before travelling on to the unique Whispering Wall. We also visit the pretty little town of Tanunda. A visit to the Chateau Yaldara for a tour of the winery and lunch including a viewing of the Chateau and its beautiful antique furniture collection. With much more to see and do today we arrive back at our hotel at approximately 5.00 pm.
 
DAY 19 (Friday 28 Sept.)
After a final look at Adelaide we follow the Dukes Highway to cross into Victoria and on through to the town of Dimboola with a stop at the Little Desert for a short wildflower walk (subject to conditions). It is then a short drive on to Horsham.

DAY 20 (Saturday 29 Sept.)
Our first stop this morning is at the Big Koala at Dadswells Bridge where we enjoy a nice cuppa. We then pass through the goldrush towns of Ararat & Beaufort before passing by Lake Burrumbeet. On our arrival in Ballarat you will have some free time to explore - perhaps a visit to Sovereign Hill a reconstruction of a goldmining settlement, enjoy a visit to the gardens, museums or craft shops.

DAY 21 (Sunday 30 Sept.)
On our final morning in Australia we depart Ballarat for the Melbourne airport and our flight back to Auckland.
